Raps comes packaged with a SMS customer  relationship package that caters for promotional/birthday campaigns as well as reminders to advice customers to return late movies.  It has also been noted by our User base that this software is friendly and intuitive to use with lots of online help. *** The in store RAPS video/movie rental catalogue is now accessible by your customers through the online Klick  Internet interface. Your customers will now be able to access your in store video/movie catalogue and dynamically (in real time) make reservations and rentals while in the comfort of their home; and see what's IN or OUT without having to drive to the store and be disappointed. Key word queries can be made on the Internet to your catalogue to find movies by actor, title, synopsis, category/genre showing off  the picture box displays with the their related movie trailer links; allowing the customer to sample the movie before making a decision. This is probably the only system available that allows for a dynamic online and offline rental solution; the missing link in the evolutionary video rental business..  Note that the in store RAPS system has a dashboard picking list  which monitors the Internet transactions produced through Klick, that are then actioned by your counter employees.   • It is a fully-fledged Windows application that has gone through many technical evolutions making it durable and powerful. The operator is able to work with more than one customer at a time handling rentals and retail/sell-thru items on the same receipt voucher, no need for window hopping. Also RAPS is Keyboard friendly allowing the operator to use the keyboard or mouse to select processing options.

  • Maintains a complete historical catalogue audit of purchases, perishes/shrinkages and other adjustments made to the rental and retail/sell-thru stock catalogue.

  • Management reports on cancelled/void transactions as well as failed returns allowing for the tracking of possible fraudulent transactions. All transactions are stamped with the date and time as well as the operator ID that performed them.

  • Report and identify excessive rental copy depth in stock and suggest number of copies to be removed from rental catalogue. Special formula developed by the software clinic for this purpose. Refer to Movement and Popularity Analysis report.

  • Report on retail stock requirements for the next monthly business cycle. The software clinic has developed a special report that calculates required stock levels, quantity of required stock and also identifies over supplies of stock based on retail stock movements.   • The RAPS system also comes supplied with its own barcode generation routines that are utilized to produce barcodes from the customer and inventory catalogue databases. E.g. create and issue your own customer club membership cards.

  • SMS mobile/cell phone services are supported to remind customers of their reservations and of rental items late for return. Additionally this service can also provide management with Turnover reports daily on their mobile/cell phones. 

  • Also note that the RAPS system can be set to run in a General Sales Tax (GST) or Value Added Tax (VAT) environments. 

  • Another special feature is the ability to play multi-media mpeg/avi/dat/mp3/wav files from the RAPS inventory catalogue; playing movie trailers for your customers or stereo music/commentary files, a great drawing card. 

  • Business statistics for both customer re-patronization, rental and retail/sell-thru are represented graphically supporting buying, selling and promotional decisions.

  • Employee best practice record keeping e.g. Medical aid details, Family doctor, Medical alert, Next of kin, Salary history, Disciplinary records, employee photograph and employee turnover contribution represented in a 12 month revolving calendar.

  • The system comes supplied with a comprehensive online User guide that covers the installation, using, configuring, maintaining and backing up RAPS. Following the User guides recommendations will reduce/eliminate the need for specialized computer engineers.

  • The RAPS application may be run either in a single User or multi-User mode with several computers connected on a local area network (LAN). And there is no need to purchase a separate database management system; RAPS comes supplied with its own that is of industry standard.

  • All reports including barcode generation can be previewed and the User has the option to select the pages or range of pages that require printing; why use paper if it is not required; zoom in and zoom out features are also included.

  • Backups of Data, Customer pictures and Software are controlled and executed with internal RAPS Backup and compression routines that are compatible with WINZIP. Backup folders are created with the naming conventions that include the type of data, date, time and version of RAPS for the backup taken. The Backup folder contains the compressed data file. The Backup can be written to CD or memory stick depending on the path specified in the RAPS Backup function. Once the RAPS backup function has been configured it then becomes a simple matter for the operator to select the Backup function and execute it on a daily basis from the Tools Selection menu. This function is very powerful and yet very simple to use …A strong Backup function is probably one of the most important components to any good software package. 

  • Upgrades to the software are available from our website as and when they become available and are easily downloaded so that they can be applied to the RAPS application at no extra cost.
